Audio Suggestion ps5
Hi GGG,
I’ve been experiencing severe audio distortion and stuttering on PS5 Slim when playing Path of Exile 2, especially during large fights with many enemies and effects. The issue gets worse the longer I play and seems directly tied to overlapping sounds and bass overload. From what I can tell, the current sound engine is trying to play too many channels at once (skills, mob noises, footsteps, loot pings, ambience, etc.), with no proper limiter or prioritization. This results in: • Heavy distortion, especially in the bass range. • Audio stuttering/crackling when the game is under load. • Overlapping sounds making it hard to distinguish important cues. Suggestions that could improve this: 1. Add a hard cap on simultaneous audio channels, with priority given to essential sounds (skills, boss mechanics) while lowering or removing less important ones (ambient, loot spam). 2. Implement a limiter/compressor on the master audio output to prevent clipping/distortion during peak moments. 3. Adjust the EQ balance – currently there is too much bass dominance, which muddies the mix during heavy fights. 4. Introduce prioritization/ducking, so critical sounds stand out and minor ones automatically reduce volume in crowded scenarios. 5. Give players more audio settings (e.g. EQ options, “Performance” audio mode, sound channel slider) to tune sound quality vs. stability on consoles. This would greatly improve the console experience. Right now, the game looks amazing, but the sound mix becomes overwhelming and distorted to the point of breaking immersion. Thanks for reading and I hope this feedback helps guide improvements. Damn, you have no possibility to set the audio channel to low/medium/high on console ?
Setting channel audio to low is the first thing we do on PC for increase FPS. |
