Gain 15% of Damage as extra Lightning Damage prefix explanation
Hi.
What does this mean: “Gain 15% of Damage as Extra Lightning Damage”? Does it refer to all damage, including elemental and chaos damage, or does it only apply to physical damage? Is it calculated from the total damage after conversions and multipliers, or is it local to the bow only before multipliers? What are the mechanics behind this prefix? Hey.
Might be wrong there, but ill answer as i understand it. " All hit damage. " From total damage aftert every calculation. Let's check an example on my blood mage. Im using Arc with Atalui's Bloodletting (2% as extra phys per 10 life cost of the spell). Without any other "gain as extra" from the wand what do i have: Tooltip arc lightning damage: 318 - 6025, that's the base arc damage after all multipliers without any crit (i've put controlled destruction just for the test, in case non-capped crit can mess with tooltip) Tooltip arc phys damage: 1330 - 32742. Currently arc costs 2091 life, meaning im gettin 418% as extra phys damage. Looking at lower damage roll it adds up: 318*4.18 = 1329.24. Quickly equiped bone cage: Base damage, non-crit: 3293 - 4936 With bloodletting: 10473 - 15698 Cost: 1096, meaning 218% as extra 3293 + 3293*2.18 = 10471.74, kinda adds up. Alright, now im taking 10% increased phys damage node on passive tree. Arc phys damage now: 1353 - 33312 Phys part increased (not by 10%, might be tooltip issue), lightning part is unchanged. Bone cage with blood letting: 10655 - 15971 Without: 3351 - 5022 There we can see that 10% phys only increased base damage, not gained as extra. (3351 + 3351*2.18 = 10656.18) Maybe too much info, but i hope that answers the question. Last edited by Leent_j#1771 on Sep 11, 2025, 6:59:46 AM

if its on your weapon i'd assume it is local but im not sure
otherwise "15% extra as X" basically means 15% more total damage | |
