Abyss Rares are severely overtuned.

I am playing a Lich with 12k ES.
Maxed resistances, including Chaos.
Take 27% less damage from everything (Eternal Life + Soulless Form + Buffer + corrupted Atziri's Disdain).
And these Abyss rares still deal half my ES in one hit.

Whoever hired this Reddit moderator to balance this game is just as guilty.
