Honest Feedback in PoE2 Early acces Especially S3
Hi,
I’ve spent several thousand hours in PoE1, and already about (500ish overall) 200 hours in PoE2 since the start of Season 3. Overall, I really enjoy the game, but I want to share both positives and negatives – with a heavier focus on the issues I’ve encountered. Positives: The game looks beautiful, especially during the Acts. Removing the support gem restrictions is a massive improvement. Introducing offline trade is one of the best decisions in the history of PoE. Sprint is an incredible quality-of-life feature. Negatives: Animations: way too many unnecessary time-consuming animations (boss room entrances, jumping into Abyss, item drops into the Abyss, etc.). By the time the fight actually starts, my buffs are already gone. Falling while sprinting: my character falls over from almost anything, and the “get up” animation takes far too long. It feels punishing and frustrating. Abyss: completely destroys performance. It’s poorly optimized, visibility is terrible, and yet everything kills you instantly. Very unfun to interact with. On-ground effects: still absurdly strong and very hard to see/survive. Immortal Abyss monsters: some enemies just can’t be damaged for several seconds, flasks don’t work near them, no feedback if this is intended or a bug. It’s very confusing and frustrating. Character collision: getting stuck in “nothing” – Abyss cracks, reward spawns, even invisible obstacles. Feels broken. Corrupted maps with "Beyond": packs sometimes don’t spawn, but the collision remains, so you can’t move or deal damage. Offline trade limitation: forcing a teleport to purchase is a terrible design. Reserving an item does nothing – whoever gets there first takes it. If I’m mapping, I can’t instantly teleport to buy something, and even opening a portal requires a cast time, which makes this worse. Large Abyss maps: performance drops to horrendous levels, and at the same time they seem to overwrite/remove almost all other map content. Map completion bugs: even after connecting and completing a map, progression sometimes doesn’t unlock. Very frustrating “0.1” type bugs. It feels very clear that the majority of development effort went into the Acts – and while I admit they look and play great, for the average long-term PoE player, mapping and endgame systems matter far more. Missing long-promised features: things that should have been available since Season 1 are still absent. Expedition chest in the hideout, a proper Tablet tab (even integrated into the Map tab) – these QoL features are long overdue. Thanks for reading – I really hope these points can help polish PoE2 into the best ARPG experience possible. Immortal Abyss monsters are definitely intended. Not good, mind you, but intended.

I agree with most of this except spiriting. I think if an enemy hits you mid-sprint you should fall over and be punished. At the very least any damage to you in sprint animation should deal significantly more heavy stun than normal. However, I do think that terrain shouldn't animation lock you while sprinting. You should either stop with no animation or your sprint should continue to glide along the wall you collided with until you manually stop the sprint.
I'm especially annoyed by abyss crack collision. Multiple times now it's spawned in a hallway and essentially cut the hallway in half forcing me to dodge roll into the middle of a pack of enemies because I can't shoot past the crack. I feel like it just shouldn't have any collision at all. Or maybe it only has collision while it is opening up to release it's monsters and than closes again once the monsters come out. |

The problem with sprint is when I dodge roll and the game decides that I held down my sprint so I fall over and take like 5 seconds to get up (probably death)
Falling over when I am purposely sprinting is one thing, the game deciding that I'm sprinting when I am not is another, the easy fix is separate keybind. |

" I think if you could put sprint and dodge roll on separate buttons, that would solve the problem. I don't understand why you can't do this. The problem with sprinting isn't just falling, but also that the character turns like a cargo ship and gets stuck on every blade of grass. I think the whole sprinting system needs to be reworked AND put on a separate button. |

I thought they will get us some skins from POE 1 to POE2 by each update but untill now nothing.
I want to see my heralds skins in POE2 .... |

" Yes, it's also quite frustrating that after spending hundreds or thousands of dollars, our character is still almost bare, but I can get over that. However, things that don't work well, don't work at all, or are completely pointless are really annoying, even though the game is in early access. |

" Well you are supposed to learn the animation cue timing for start buffing. "at x moment i can start stacking X spell for max damage at the start of the fight" And for sprint stun, just don't sprint into packs ? |
