I figured out GGG's issue with making this game work properly
I think 0.3 is definitely in the right direction. Overall as a whole. Its great. Huge improvement over the others. All the additions work.
Love the new league mechanic. Feels super polished. Needs tuning and adjusting but I had no issues so far in wanting to run the mechanic. New abyssal lich ascendancy is is definitely a positive. Thank god for the new trade system. It's amazing. Thank you GGG. Crafting is huge. Very good job. Abyss additions are very welcome to spice up end game crafting. I can now unlearn POE crafting astrophysics and have fun making decent gear without a billion divine. Still leaves a lot of space for endgame min/max crafting. Campaign felt great all the way through, lots of drops. Crafting was easy enough to get stuff to progress. Unless you were really trying to get some weird build to work the progression felt good. And plenty of loot dropped throughout to gear yourself up for anything. The Pacing of the campaign felt really nice, and not running the same 3 zones over again was super refreshing. As far as Pacing goes. When getting into end game maps around T7 ish or so, the lack of "good" drops and the need to run faster and more of them started to really ramp up. It went from this cool fun road trip with lots to see to suddenly jumping on the highway and getting off every exit to do F1 style refuels to get any end game progression going. A lot of the end game materials felt like they were really lacking until you were able to start juicing 2x+ towers and running the different mechanics in overdrive. This is where I think GGG is missing the whole point of making the game work properly like it does during the campaign. It goes from this cool Poe2 feel straight back into what toxic mess that the POE1 endgame grind is. Mind you, I really like the map spam clearing of Poe1 endgame but I already have that game. End game here does not need to force you to do 4x tower setups with max quant to see anything drop. Literally, nothing drops unless you spam multiple towers with tablets and super juice your maps. I have better drops in raw currency dropping in T5 maps. Your build needs to jump right into meta overdrive in order to do anything endgame and there is this big gap for players that aren't 24/7 streamers to get any realistic progress in running the endgame content. Ontop of that, again there are only like 2 meta builds so far working the endgame loop. I know its only the first week but I think that the balancing of all the skills is very very off. It's been that way every update. So everyone is playing LA or ED/C. GGG has to stop balancing Top down and instead Balance Bottom up. I don't understand why almost any build you put together shouldn't work until T15 4 mod maps very efficiently. If I want to get crossbow skills working with skeletal archers, this game should allow me to do so efficiently at T15 maps. Wanna throw sparks around while playing warrior, sure. Have some fun. The scaling curve should be at the top end of T15 juicing into T16+ maps. Wanna push T3 pinnacles, then get your mixed up 50% viable build to 80% and not so mix/match. And what worries me is that all the recent interviews (or any for that matter lately) has been "oh well, this build is super OP so lets nerf it" which doesn't fix the overall issue of the game on why LA is so popular. The reality is that there are very little options to do fun stuff with other skills. It's a Viability issue, not that one is just OP so everyone plays it. Stuff like: why nerf spectres mid week? Why not buff up turrets or the other builds that are under performing to match that endgame power people are really looking for. This is a GOD simulator after all. Anyways. Don't know if GGG reads any of this forum seriously or not but hope this helps with some feedback from all you guys in a positive way. Last bumped on Sep 10, 2025, 1:51:38 PM

People obviously choose the builds that allow them to run the content, preferably with a margin of comfort. Earlier I was running a T15 Delirium, 6 mods Map. I had cleared all the Rares and was just trying to clear the remaining trash (I'm a completionist) before trying to run the two Breaches that the map had spawned. I turned the corner of a dark room (it was the Canyon map) and I was immediately swarmed by a pack of mobs that I hadn't noticed because they were blending in the dark. They immediately pushed me into a corner of the room, surrounded me and killed me. From the moment I noticed them rush me to the moment my character was dead, about 2 seconds had passed. What's the point with the devs spending months to rework some classes to "encourage" combo based gameplay, when I had barely the time to realize that I was attacked before my character was killed, losing the two Breaches and being reset at the beginning of my 90th level? I had to quit because of frustation. I don't mind losing per se, but it's irritating when the defeat feels like the conseuqence of a cheap and unfair tactics on the part of the game creator. It leaves a bad aftertaste. I am pessimist about the chance that in the end this game will be for me, but I'm going to give the Team the benefit of the doubt till 0.4 is released. If I understood them correctly, next patch will include a (initial?) rework of the endgame. Maybe the current state is due to the fact that the current endgame mechanics have been imported from the first edition of the game. I'm willing to wait to see if they have a coherent vision for the endgame, because right now the mismatch between the expectation of how the game should play and the actual way it does is huge and has serious consequences on my ability to enjoy the game.
