Oil Grenades, Persistent Ground, and Optimisation.

Okay, this is gonna be short and sweet. My fps could be better, but it's not completely unplayable.

Using these funny oil grenade things with nova is super effective, but I quickly noticed that igniting the ground would cause hilarious amounts of frame drops even with dynamic culling on and a lot of the particle stuff turned down.

So, in terms of solutions, Persistent Ground III does not apply fully or maybe at all to oil grenades, because the ground doesn't get destroyed. I'd love if it did, if only for not destroying my frames, but we have more solutions.

Another possible solution is to merge the ground effects into one, and then make particles on that, keeping the density of particles roughly the same. A new visual could also be added because being honest, it covers the ground and hides a ton of information, which is why I wanted Persistent Ground to work.


But either way, the issues with lighting the oil on fire is always going to be lag and/or obscuring ground effects. This prevents the skill from being used as a mass debuff which would actually make it quite useful.

Definitely also didn't die to olroth's ground nuke because of this either. Don't do 7m wide oil fires unless you're a trained idiot like me.
