Azmeri spirits in 0.3.0b
This is by far my greatest complaint when it comes to PoE2's world-building and canon mechanics. I can't believe Azmeri spirits made it into the core game. It's so flawed a concept and makes players like me feel stupid for playing along with it, even if there are "rewards" to be had after a fight.
I already ranted about this in 0.2 how annoying it is to RP while this annoying pixie merrily leads the character into the teeth of danger and throws a tantrum when it's not being followed quickly enough. What adds insult to injury is that his sprite buffs the enemy instead of the character which to this day, rubs me the wrong way. It's not a good player experience and never will be since one has to suspend their sense of disbelief and common sense in order to tolerate the mechanic. I mean buffing the enemy, when it demanded YOUR help. The last straw for me is Lythara. Close-quarter combat, against a poisoner who is helped by 2-3 spirits that bring stampeding oxen and angry packs of gorillas while a bullet hell of AoE attacks with large areas and long expiration times leave ZERO space to move. Who designed this fight?! There is nothing random about her spirit possession. Even if she's led away to be far from spirits that are already on the map, the next one spawns right beside her, especially when she's losing! Please balance this game! They are aware that azmeri is bad atm.
The worst thing isn't the mechanic itself, but the lack of reward. One system that could be ok : - Azmeri spirit rare mob drop azmeri fragments (instead of random rarity uppgrade) - A pnj in your hideout for convert azmeri spirits fragment into reward - Depending the type of azmeri fragment (3 dif spirit), one can be converted into currencys, one into any other fragments (breach, delirium, ritual, exp), and no idea for the last one. |

Yeah it's bad.
You decided to avoid this awful mechanic? Well now you get a forced fight with it in act 4 followed by Azmeri fox spirits that won't disappear no matter how long you wait them out and can potentially ruin your maps. |

I'm fine with it to be honest. It's kind of fun and the talisman rewards can be very powerful upgrades (especially for minion builds in scepters).
What I'd really like is an option to kill Delwyn. That loser has it coming. Only other tweak is the talisman drop rate is not satisfying until high-tier maps. It feels bad to chase a spirit through a T5 map, a couple of abyss groups, only to get nothing for drops at the end of the rare mob fight. Last edited by Kozikuru#3127 on Sep 9, 2025, 9:40:43 AM

" 100 % agree. I really hoped they would get rid of that stupid mechanic in 0.3, yet here we are... |
