Pathetic and boring boss design (not all bosses)

Tavakai has me worried about who actually plays and tests these ideas.

The first phase can be done by a 2 year old with one arm.. it's a gimme.. so you have to slog through it just to prog the actual fight. Literally just a speedbump. Put a checkpoint after first phase or make phase 1 a cutscene. It's really bad.

Nobody on the dev team plays melee.. I had 35 seconds straight where Tavakai stood on his blood puddle so I just twiddled my thumbs waiting for him. The fights in this game are so heavily gated toward ranged that it borders on being hilariously pathetic lol.

Are some fights hard for melee? of course.. but even the ones that arent hard are just boring af because of how much DOWNTIME there actually is. You put a dodge mechanic in the game for skill. MAKE ATTACKS THAT TAKE A SKILLFUL DODGE THEN LET US DPS THE BOSS FOR MORE THAN HALF A SECOND. Who is making decisions over there? Wake up. Even the fights that aren't challenging after you learn them become boring because you EITHER - using a boring 1 shot build... or spamming space MORE than you are attacking.

We want challenge.. we don't want waiting simulators. If you want to keep the bosses the way they are then drop 5x the crafting mats so we can actually make OP builds to make up for the tediousness of these long slog encounters. They are only long because you literally can only attack for less than half the time the boss in on screen. Do better thanks.

agree, that boss overall is badly designed starting from mechanics (or lack thereof) and ending at lore. but if you haven't experienced the interludes yet, you are in for a ride and a giggle

p.s. just to be clear you talking about act4 end boss yes? im bad with all these names

This is what annoys me about playing Shockburst in juiced maps. Give any of these bosses with tiny downtime between attacks speed mods and the game genuinely feels awful to play at all. The combo gameplay becomes -> Mark -> Spam voltaic grenade or get a bow swap for shock -> repeat until the boss is actually shocked and NOT attacking. Boring.

It's really a no brainer to play the one-shot build of any league as long as bosses are so keen on fast comboing you. I had a Rathbreaker with Cunning Fox spirit and every time I pressed and let go of spacebar, he was already beginning another attack. If I wasn't goofing around with curses I wouldn't have killed him ever.
