After the 0.3c changes

apparently the font of blood was bugged and wasn't affected by life leech resistance on enemies resulted in the instant life recovery. The leech will still sustain the cost of the skill, but you won't feel as immortal anymore. This is somewhat fixed by "anointing" the node voracious for 20% instant leech, that way you will instantly pop to full life whilst still leeching for a bit all the time.
What is Tawhoa's Tending?

Tawhoa's tending is a new lineage support gem available at level level 65 that states when your totems die, it explodes for 10% of its max life
How do we make the totems explode?

By using the support gem Greatwood support we set the max limit of our totems to 1, but it will gain up to 20% more area of effect, 60% more damage and 60% more life per limit. Meaning if we try to summon a second totem, the first one dies and explodes for 10% of its life in an area
How do we scale damage?

Since the support gem doesn't have an attack nor a spell tag, we can't scale it that way. Instead we focus all on the following:
- Melee skill levels on amulet, weapons and gloves to increase the base life on our shockwave totems - gain damage as % extra physical damage on weapons with the new essences - % increased totem life to increase the base life by x% - % increased totem damage - % increased global physical damage - % increased totem placement speed to speed up the casts. - There are also 2 nodes on the tree with generic area of effect we can use to increase the clear speed a bit - melee attacks have +1 to maximun number of summoend totems or % increased damage while you have a totem desecrated mods on weapons. The 4 minimum limit to gain the most out of greatwood support, or straight up almost 180% increased damage. Since we are playing titan, we also get 50% increased effect on all the totem nodes for big deployment speed, damage and totem life How do we solve the REALLY high mana cost?

Since the totem mana cost scales REALLY high, blood magic will convert all mana costs to life. If we then support our shockwave totem with the support gem "font of blood" and as long as we are inside the totem explosion radius, we will leech 12% of the explosion damage, resulting in thousands of life leech a second. By grabbing the node "fast metabolism" at the bottom of the tree which states "life leech effects are not removed when unreserved life is filled" and the slower leech nodes on the left side of the tree, allows us to maintain the leech almost non stop in fights and keep us at full life ALL the time! (as long as you are not one shot)
How do we solve defenses?

Stack armour and the new stat "armour applies to elemental damage". You can with some investment easily get 20k+ armour for 85% damage reduction against most monsters + 85% against elemental damage on top of the 75% all resistances. To sustain, we leech mentioned in the previous section
Why titan and not warbringer or tactician for totems?

- the 50% increased effect of small passives is too good to not have. - Since the introduction of armour applies to elemental damage on gear and on the tree, armour is now REALLY strong. Since we can get a high armour body armour (like >2k armour), and % increased armour from equipped body armour on amulet and the tree and the ascendancy itself for even more armour, allows us to get giga tanky. - More life now that giant's blood is nerfed - Alternatively, if you want more dps you could go for more damage against heavy stunned enemies I guess you could do this on a warbringer for better defenses, the +1 limit to totems, allowing you benefit more from the % increased damage while you have a totem desecrated mod on a weapon. And extra defenses with shields and free armour break. But you will lose out on A LOT of totem life, placement speed and totem damage What quality of life does this build bring to the table?

- 1 button GIGA EASY point and click gameplay (as long as you have been in your totem explosion AoE at least once recently)
- instant life recovery as soon as the totem hits - No need for mana sustain - partial instant leech and sustained leech for topping your life off most of the time - Dirt cheap to get going, +6 weapons with less requirement is more than enough to start dealing damage and progress through the atlas giga defenses, allowing you to facetank almost everything, there are a few slam attacks that are scary still - Some ailment threshold, but nothing spectacular - Feels good already at level 65 - No need to dodge most of the game, with a few boss exceptions and giga buffed expeditions - Almost no visual clutter Any cons?

- You can't one shot bosses like the other giga fancy slam builds or giga expensive lightning arrow builds
- You have be in your totem aoe explosion at least once every 1-2 or so seconds (not an issue) - You have to be point blank to deal the most damage, since the totems have a traveling time - You can't level with this since the support gem is level 65 required and you have to find it as a drop if SSF, buy it on trade if you are not (literally free at this point) What affixes should I focus on my gear?

Added a more expensive swap later on, using uul-netol's embrace support instead of brutality for damage as extra chaos + armour break. added that you can have either +1 totems on weapons or % damage while you have a totem for practicly 33-50% more damage. Does "increased stun buildup" and "stun duration" work off Tawhoa's Vengeance?

If it's on the weapons, I don't think so as it's local stun build up iirc. But stun buildup and duration on the tree should work.

Oh fun stuff. Glad to see another Tawhoa's Tending build.
I posted a quickly slapped together warbringer version. Used font of mana, but the regen on font of blood does make you more tanky as you regen so much life so fast. I was having a surprising amount of fun with this build when initially I expected it to flop. Out of curiosity, what did you get your totem's life to? |

" With +4 limit to totems 102k. With only +2 and increased damage when you have a totem on the weapons, almost 83k. Unfortunately they nerfed (fixed) the totem leech in 0.3c, build is still working but it defenitely took a hit on the sustain. |

Changes made:
12 of september 2025 - Changed the anoint to 20% instant leech due to the nerf (bug fix) to font of blood leech in 0.3c. Build is working just fine after these changes |

Hi,
I theorised this build before league start and its been my only character so far. I was using Font for life but have since swapped to a Kaoms body for more life and Undying Hate Tecrod jewel so now i can use it at range after a little bit of charging and i hit 15,000 life regen a second with 5k life. I am saving up for the Ataluis Bloodletting because that will give me a big boost in damage with totems costing over 700 life. Skill Mana Costs Converted to Life Costs Supported Skills Gain 2% of Damage as extra Physical Damage per 10 Life cost With 700 life cost thats 140% extra Phys damage. I wasn't sure if the mod on weapons and runes "extra damage as X" would affect the totem so thats good to know. Also i use a Mark skill with 10% phys damage applying armour break so i can use more damage on the totem rather than sacrificing a gem socket for armour break. " Bloodletting doesn't work. It applies the damage to the totems, but they then trigger tawhoa's - which has a cost of 0, resulting in 0 extra damage. |
