Commiserate support not working with Overcharge using Arc
|
With both these gems supporting Arc, I almost never get the more shock magnitude from Commiserate, even against single targets. I'm not sure if it has something to do with Arc's ability to chain, or if the interaction is just bugged. I also notice that even while frequently shocking with Arc, my character is almost never shocked from Overcharge.

Bump. Overcharge should shock me, and then Commiserate should remove that to apply a stronger shock, even if only on a subsequent cast. But it's simply not working with any consistency.

Thanks for your report, I'll pass this on.

I think i know what happens, i am pretty sure it has to do with order of appliance:
1. You cast arc 2. It calculates: I do shock! 3. Magnitude of shock is calculated: base +50% from overcharge 4. Enemy is shocked 5. Shock is reflected to you 6. Commiserate cleanses the shock off of you (but you do not get the bonus because the shock is already calculated + applied!) How did i figure this (probably) out? 1. When you cast you are not afflicted with shock even if the hit shocks That means that commiserate applies AFTER the shock has been reflected. To get the commiserate bonus you have to be afflicted at the point of the shock not afterwards 2. When you DO get the 30% more bonus it always on the 2nd shock (stormweaver double shock) This means that the 2nd shock does get the bonus because here is what happens 1. You cast arc 2. It calculates: I do shock! 3. Magnitude of shock is calculated: base +50% from overcharge 4. Enemy is shocked 5. Shock is reflected to you (enemy and you are now shocked one time) 6. You have more than 100% shock rate so a second shock is calculated 7. Magnitude of shock 2 is calculated, this time benefiting from commiserate since you are shocked 8. Commiserate cleanses the shock off of you 9. Enemy has a low and high shock you have none since yours got cleansed @Jatin_GGG I am very certain that this is the case (and even if not the observations are correct). If this is the case then the fix would be one of two solutions: 1. Order remains as is BUT Commiserate only cleanses the shock from you IF it gained the benefit, this would fit the wording of the gem, it would cause the first hit to shock yourself (and not gain the bonus) but all subsequent hits would gain the bonus (eg only cleanse when the bonus applies) 2. Target this specific gem combo and change the order so that the shock reflect takes place after the commiserate cleanse, to me this seems like a more brittle solution since it only works for this combo and doesn't fit the wording on the gem |

" Good insights. I think the cleanest solution that aligns the best with Commiserate's templating is that when a Shock would be applied by the supported skill, first attempt to remove Shock from the player, then if Shock was removed, grant the magnitude increase to the Shock applied to the enemy (in between steps 2 and 3 of your first process). |

I think we have 2 part - remove shock from caster and buff magnitude after removing.
Next - with Commiserate and overcharge i never get shock,so 1 part work, but second didn't,% shock didn't up. Next - in map with charged ground i get shoked, and shock % buff. So i think thats 2 part separated from each other, but must be working in same time. |
