Hidden Ascendancy mechanic: Invitations.

There appears to be a hidden ascendancy mechanic in game that requires specific invitation + specific non ascended base class or specific ascended class, and a specific location.

Example : Shrike island seems to be home of the warrior one.

It’s becoming better known that lich has a hidden ascendancy modifer from kulemack’s invitation.

I put forth to you that the kulemack’s invitation which is a map fragment which unlocks abysal lich was designed this way to give us a glimpse into what is actually possible.

The other invitations are not map fragments but are all map currency

P.S. don’t get too excited about warrior and shrike island, the invitation tied to it is likely the maven one. Which would indicate shrike island / warrior is the hardest of them all to solve.

But I could be wrong about that who knows. All I know is that if one of them is hardest to solve it’s the maven one, and the transparent nature of the statue on shrike island being mirrored by the hardest riddle makes thematic sense.
