Act 3 Feedback

I really appreciate all the work that has gone into Act 3, but I still feel it’s far too long, and there are plenty of areas that end up being more tedious than fun.

Here’s my ranking of the weakest zones, from worst to slightly better:

The Maltan Waterways

Apex of Filth

The Drowned City

Chermal Wetlands

The main issue is simple: there’s too much walking and not enough engaging events to keep the player satisfied. The quests themselves feel boring and underwhelming in terms of rewards.

Personally, I didn’t find much enjoyment in these areas at all. The story dragged, partly because of the length, and maybe also because the mobs felt overtuned compared to other acts. Either way, it killed a lot of the momentum for me.

Honestly, it feels like Act 3 suffers from the same problem in both PoE1 and PoE2—being one of the weakest and least enjoyable acts in the entire game.

If I could also add

-the 'go back in time' element of the zone just feels terrible in terms of navigating waypoints and town travel....

-My 7900XT tries to catch itself on fire in Matlan Waterways for whatever reason and performance is really bad in this area

-Way too many opportunities to get 'lost', the zones require you search in every direction.... by corridor... so you are highly likely to have to backtrack and empty map a few times

-Bosses feel pretty brutal for non meta builds or SSF
Can we add that Act 3 have the worst performance across all other maps? Perhaps design philosophy caused this issue?
