Plunderer's Point reset-after-death is an atrocity
Found all pieces of maps on the Karui islands, found the Plunderer's Point, so far so good. Landed, placed all explosives, pushed the button and started going after it, randomly die to no-idea-what and poof, entire island lost. 18 boxes of loot just gone. WHo the hell thought of this, to make it a 1-attempt thing on a quest to actually get the reward from it, which is also not mentioned anywhere unless you do happen to die. Please for the love of god change it, now I feel like shit and the whole "gather map parts" just feels like a waste of time, since well, I didn't get a single coin out of the whole ordeal.

I had 3 rares spawn, 1 with the slowing bubble, 1 with the frozen aura, and 1 with a bleed hit. Cleared the map without looting anything because I had no idea that dying would make everything unavailable (first time playing Act 4), and ultimately those 3 rares on my screen annihilated me. Thought my game was bugged when all the loot disappeared. Could be worth explaining that mechanic.

I'm pretty sure it there just to introduce expeditions. It's not great at that though.

Yeah I think this may be confusing for players that don't know about expedition. They spend a lot of the act farming the entrance, then are expecting a reward beyond the expedition loot or feel they have missed out on something if they die, unlike some of the previous mechnics, like Ultimatum trial where you repeat until completed.
Here is an example: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3852583/page/1#p26356647 In general, the quest description in the game need to be drastically improved. It needs to make sense to players who have not played the game before. Too much is vaguely conveyed, and there is not a good tracking of the rewards and buffs that have been received, beyond the world map UI. This should be conveyed by the quest log. What is unfinish, what has been received and what is optional. /passives type command that conveys this would also be helpful, so players can check if they have or haven't received/completed something. The bugged roving wisps achievement also need to be fixed, so players can trust the information on the UI and not run around second guessing if the status is incorrect. All the other ones seem to work. Some of the tent ones don't show as complete and should for consistency. This expedition quest should probably also have a completion icon for consistency. Maybe it is a repeatable thing like trails, I have not played that far yet to know, but it does not appear to clearly show that quest is cleared on the UI. I think repeatable areas, like the trials, that players need to go back to, should be more pronounced as areas of interest on the UI, rather than the player needing to remember their location on the map. |
