Still missing first two points from Expedition tree

After running some expeditions, a log book, and then Olroth via the realm gate - it gave me book II, but I never got the first 2 points. I visited Dannig in my hideout which does nothing. Someone suggested that running one of his expeditions in a map would grant me the points but it only gave me the League tablet, not the first book...

Need a decent resolution.

well he actually had the book after visiting him again after talking to him in the map for the tablet... shrug
