Rework Cleave into Rake

I was recently playing PoE2 with my currently favourite skill, Rake, and realized that it's basically a PoE1 Cleave, but with 2 major differences, that make it so good:
1) It has dash to the target if out of range
2) It's a STRIKE skill, meaning it can be ancestrally boosted
Especially 2nd difference matters, not only it makes skill better at clearing, allowing to cover larger area with repeats, it also makes it look glourious with spirits lunging onto enemies. Cleave might be a classic, but it's really outdated at current age and really could use new layer of paint.

that second point is - as you have mentioned - very important

GGG kinda put some effort into 'fixing melee' (altho we are STILL far into parity with casters/summoners) but they did it by exert mechanics that mostly benefits (to varying degree) Strikes and Slams

skills that have neither tag are - by definition - worse as they cannot (ab)use Overexertion support

Cleave, Sweep, Bladestorm, Shield Skills, (to a lesser degree) Reave.

Cleave in general remains a meme, probably the WORST attack skill in the entire game - despite supposedly strong Vaal variant (strong, but only on paper as it requires absurdly cumbersome micro comparable only to initial implementation of Beastiary Nets..).

i strongly believe they wont change anything major in POE1 due to full focus on POE2 (it still needs it) - so the minor things like few melee skills noone gives a duck anyway are unlikely to be on any to-do list

btw - best Cleave in POE1 is Reap :)
