Waystone and Atlas Tree progression feedback

Hey GGG,

as a long time POE 1 player i want to say that the mapping and atlas-tree progression system in POE 1 is an absolute masterpiece!

When i finish the campain i get to start working on my Atlas. Progress towards the content that i want to play, even block the content i do not want to see in my maps. I feel rewarded for every map i play. What can i say, it's brilliant and fun!

In POE 2 however the waystone/atlas/tower system feels very stale, boring and not exciting. I have to find a nexus to get atlas points for a not very intersting atlas tree. On my way to finding all these things i have to run waystones to get there, even if they have no content at all and no bosses.

Every time before i run a new waystone i gotta look where i go next, and decide how i want to roll my next waystone which is quite annoying after a while.

This sums up the feeling i get while playing:

In POE 1 i run my next map because i want to. In POE 2 i run my next waystone because i have to (most of the time)

I know you want to make POE 2 different, i just hope you can come up with a more exciting system in the future.
