Baran influenced maps make my laptop crash on entering portal
As said baran and baran only conqueror maps make my laptop crash, not the game but a forced shutdown is required for my laptop to work again.
Other conqueros maps dont make this happen, tried different t16 maps and this doesnt happen, loading campaing locations and it doesnt happen. When entering a Baran map it gets stuck at loading and disk C goes into 100% making laptop freeze non stop, after about 5 min i can somehow force close poe and disk goes back to normal but laptop wont stop being buggy and a forced shutdown is required to laptop to work normally again after restart. I did 5 tries to enter a baran map, with result being the exact same. Tested 3 other different games to check if any type of problem appears similar to this one but they all work perfectly. How is this possible, what is going on? Last edited by Skunky94#4117 on Sep 5, 2025, 11:00:29 PM Last bumped on Sep 5, 2025, 11:01:49 PM

My first thought would be something that localised is likely to be data corruption.

" Interesting. "Verify integrity of installed files" got stuck at 11% and also made my disk go to 100% freezing completely my laptop, after about 5 minutes it came back to normal and managed to finish verifying the files, which found something wrong. The laptop was working properly so i tried to enter a Baran map and the exact thing happened again. forcing me to shutdown laptop. will try reinstalling poe and hopefully that will solve it. |

If either Steam or the Epic Games Launcher was also choking on something, I'm not convinced it's an issue with Path of Exile, because, well - neither of them are Path of Exile.
I'd be inclined to wonder whether your SSD has any bad sectors. See if this helps: https://www.poecommunity.help/miscellaneous/other/scan-for-disk-errors (It might take a moment!) GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

" Reinstalling poe solved it. I hope its not my SSD but im clueless. This was such specific weird error but related to my disk performance after all. I did Scan for Disk Errors but nothing popped after completion and restart, not sure if its supposed to give a report about if it found any problem with the disk or not.
