Why passive tree got so many energy shield+ nodes but none life?

GGG decided to promote only ES builds? I don't understand that :/

They are trying to make them significantly different in that life is scaled by damage reduction through armor which can now help against both physical and elemental hits.

What they want is big ES pools with difficult access to in combat ES regain and smaller life pools with accessible regeneration both multiplied by armor stats.

The main issue is how 1 shots work and how badly it disadvantages life setups. They have slightly improve that in this patch, but there is still some disparity depending on the build setup.

It is very doable to be tanky on a life build and survive all the major 1 shots but you have to dedicate alot of resources towards that end. Comparatively, ES is more straight forward to scale but lacks defense against phsysical and chaos hits (unless you run CI then its just phys hits).

One issue with the ES philosophy is ES/Evasion builds as they can get ghost dance and effectively become immortal against hits.

We also don't have any Int/Str hybrid classes yet or any of the mechanics for their defense layer options yet.

I think Kripp in his new minion build try that, but ppl in youtube comment says : it's horrible. Looks like ES is easy mode now.
