POE2 new trade system & POE1 trade tab
I've been trying to figure out on PS system how POE2 trade works in game. I have 1 trade tab I bought for POE1, but not sure it works in POE2; but now i see POE2 has "Merchant" tabs to purchase. So, are the already purchased trade tabs from POE1 no longer viable for trade in POE2, and need to fork over more money for the same thing for POE2?
Am I confused on this or is this going back on what Jonathan said in a release interview that all items purchased in POE1 are transferrable to POE2? Thanks exiles! Last bumped on Sep 10, 2025, 12:32:29 AM

Hey TAAA,
I am in no way an expert, but I have tried to find out how this new trade system works myself. As I understand it: - You can keep using the premium stash tabs and premium quad stash tabs to sell in the old way (ingame whisper and trade) in both PoE1 and PoE2. - To use the new 'merchant system' you need new tabs (merchant tabs). - If you want, you can update pre-0.3.0-purchased premium stash tabs to merchant tabs via your account: https://pathofexile2.com/my-account/manage/merchants-tabs BEWARE: If you upgrade your premium stash tab to merchant tab, you can NO LONGER use the premium stash tab in the old way (ingame whisper and trade). And seeing PoE1 only has the old trading system, you would no longer be able to sell anything in PoE1. Also interesting to know, which I did not know is that premium quad stash tabs can NOT be converted to merchant tabs. Seeing those are the only ones I have purchased myself, I would have to buy merchant tabs if I want to use the new trading system. Another good thing to know, is that you can only convert pre-0.3.0 purchased premium stash tabs to merchant tabs. The system to upgrade does NOT work if you would purchase a premium stash tab today and want to upgrade that. Buy the merchant tab instead! TLDR: Yes, you can convert premium stash tabs from PoE1 to a merchant tab, but you will lose that tab in PoE1 then. Otherwise you would have to purchase a Merchant tab today to use the new trading system. I hope this helps. |

Thanks. Yes it does. Guess it's a money grab and redundant waste of $ to separate the 2 games worth tabs since these are not totally separate games. I truly regret getting poe2 as joy is no where close to POE1. I'll keep my POE1 stash tab as I will likely never play poe2 again unless they make it a POE1 Remaster lol. So nope. I rate poe2 as a 3/10 game.
