Stuck to boat - Act 4 - Demon Form

If entering the landing craft/boat with Kanu in demon form I enter the map out of demon form. When trying to walk away from the boat it will constantly pull character back to boat. Currently need to travel back to ship, go into demon form, back out of demon form to enter boat with Kanu and travel to shore.

It is still like this, when you are already in Demon form at the ship and then try to go ashore. Solution is to either as OP says to go back and forth to the ship or choose the "Respawn at checkpoint" and then go into the zone again.
