POE 2 - Do you have to kill the trialmaster to get the 4th ascendancy?

I completed the ilvl 80 ultimatum and clicked on the alter of ascendancy shrine, but didnt get the skill points. Is there something else i should be doing?

Yes you have to but can also do sekhemas
