Hazard Nodes

I'm playing primarily with the Spearfield skill and I've noticed the Hazard Duration nodes, the Hazard Area nodes, and the Widespread Coverage node do not effect Spearfield. The only thing the Hazard Area nodes effect is the explosive area and not the range of the cone while the Widespread Coverage node only reduces damage. I dont know if this is intended since the area support gems work for both the cone range and area of explosion. Thank you for your amazing game.
