Poe2, new abyssal lich ascendancy is a nice touch but I cant swap between them.

I'm feeling kind defeated at the moment because i decided to try out the new ascendancy on my lich. The character is pretty geared and level 90 and after experimenting for a bit i decided that the ascendancy wasn't for me and I went back to the well expecting to swap back. Unfortunately at the present moment once you ascend you are stuck. This is extremely disappointing to me as my option is to either continue with a playstyle I don't enjoy or slog through the campaign for 8 hours then grind all the way back to level 90 to use my gear on a different lich. If GGG staff does read this it would be greatly appreciated if we could swap between these ascendancies once we defeat the boss as I don't see a true downside for anyone involved. That being said the idea of late game ascendancies behind hidden mechanics is fantastic but I don't understand why there's a need to lock us into something experimental especially when it requires us to commit a pretty leveled and geared character just to try it out.

I don't know if anyone has tried with Abyssal Lich, but with ascendancies in general, you can change them by ascending again.
SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

The issue is that the alter is not interactable at the end of the ascendancy trial for me even once i respec all my passive points through the NPC.

" Same issue here.. I just didn't even think, I just wanted to go back to my hideout and have time to read through all the stuff before I decided to click "ascend" - now my character is essentially bricked. :C |

Have you tried doing another abyssal delve first, swapping back, and then changing ascendancies?
I know that sounds like a lot but it might be the only workaround for now. |

Believe me I've tried a bunch of different things. I think another important thing to mention is that the way this works is you do not get the option to "take the power of the abyss" if you re-delve. The boss still spawns but my core complaint is you can not swap back after delving because there is no altar.

I’ve just managed to respec back to normal Lich by doing the normal respec method. Had to complete the highest tier shekema then refund all points with the merchant before touching the ascendancy alter as usual and it worked.

" I found a way to avoid this. Just don't die during the first two boss fights. I think it's because when respawn at the checkpoint the boss's health bar just bugged and disappeared and when the boss died the system still thought the boss was still alive.
