"Deadly Boss" maps locked behind time-wasting mechanics

Title says it all.

What's the point? Just wasting our time with pointless searches that add no value to the gameplay experience? Let alone the fact that some of these mechanics are very vaguely explained or completely random (Estazunti idol for instance).

Why insist on having everything in this game have a major downside or grueling grind associated to it? Really, who is making these decisions?

Can't we just fight the new bosses and have fun that way?

I don't mind the idol idea if it is a GUARANTEED drop on map completion, like with the other locked stuff.
The real problem here - it is a random drop that does not drop...
If GGG makes the drop guuaranteed and marks the map that drops it, no problem from me, that's cool.
