Help explain legion?
I really don't understand legion (maybe because I mostly ignore it.) I'm giving ruthless a pause ATM and so see some legion content every now and then, and it just feels so utterly underwhelming.
First: whom of these teams am I supposed to kill? Since I frequently play minions, it's hard to target very precisely. Then: once the timer runs out and the armies spawn, they seem exceptionally unharmful. They mostly attack each other and when they do attack me, they don't seem to hit hard. And the loot really feels off. Most other extra content seems much more interesting, controllable, and rewarding. What am I missing? Underrated stats: Basic human decency, small quantum of respect, microportion of compassion Last bumped on Sep 3, 2025, 5:29:16 PM

Legion:
You see two armies facing each other, frozen. If your build is low AoE, you simply need to choose a direction to go straight through the army and hope you have a general in that direction. Think about this initial lineup like a diamond-shape, with the top and bottom points straight back from the starting line being the places where bosses will likely spawn. This "diamond" is tilted based on how the army first looks when you click on the monolith: the front line enemies that face each other represent the MIDDLE of the diamond. First phase: unlocking the enemies that will come to life by beating them while frozen. They do not attack you yet. Ignore everything that DOESN'T have a reward icon on it. Run in a straight path to the points, straight through the middle of the "front line" that you see. Choose one particular direction to run first, doesn't matter which side....that's basically just luck of the draw. If you have time left and explored the outer rim of one side for a boss, run as fast as you can directly to the other side and hit any reward-carrying enemies. Second phase: the enemies you unlocked will come to life and when you beat them, they will drop the specified rewards floating above their heads (the high value targets). Bosses, if you have any, will drop a bunch of emblem splinters and maybe some items. Legion, like most extra content, gets a LOT of its value from the atlas passives. These increase the number of generals (big guys with rewards), boss chance, splinters/emblem drops, and extra rewards. It can be incredibly profitable on its own, but most of the profit will come from running 5-ways when you get an emblem of each type and them put them in the map device together. In fact, Legion is one of the most popular and most profitable extra content you can run. ***If you don't have a high-aoe build, you can take the keystone atlas passive that removes the timer and take your time to ONLY kill the bosses and the reward monsters. This is the easiest way to maximize rewards without having to rush or "take a chance" on which direction to go. You are right that most of the legion enemies don't do any serious damage. But there are some big beefy guys that CAN be a problem, and some of the bosses have decent damaging attacks when buffed by the map.
