HELP Weapon Swap with Sceptre and Wand

Good day.

I am trying to figure out the weapon swap between a minion build and a chaos dmg build, and I am really confused.
What I would want would be:

Sceptre + Shield and Wand + Sceptre

This does not seem to work because in the first combination, the sceptre must be in the main hand. In the second combination however, the Sceptre must be in the offhand.

Is this intended? Does anyone have a good idea? Otherwise, the game forces me to either get a second Sceptre or to drop most minions in the chaos build, right?
