radiant grief not igniting in presence

Hi there I have a level 74 merc grenadier with all 5 slots on gas grenades. I dont know why but when i toss the gas grenades I am in the blast zone and they don't explode unless the go off themselves or I explode them with a exploding shot or normal grenade I don't know why this is and I wonder what is doing on
