Why so much gold cost?

Between buying items and paying gold and doing currency exchange and spending gold, i am now unable to trade. I just got to Act 4 so maybe its that, but why is there a crazy gold cost to these things? i am doing a currency exchange of item 1 to item 2, why am i also paying gold? when i buy an item, i am already paying the price for the item, why do i have to pay gold also? i dont mind that i have to give gold, i mind that i dont have enough from playing act 1 to 4 to do more than 4 trades and a couple of currency exchanges. Am i the only one who has this problem?

yeah its not me, am into mapping now. Just tried to respec so bought some gear, had to drop back to using the old trading style as ran out of gold super fast and had 300k to start with. Then went to respec passive points, its 180k gold to respec passive points and i only have 6k gold remaining after buying 5 items through Ange. wtf is this nonsense..... thanks GGG, see you next season, am done with this one for now.
