How do you get more level 1 support gems?

They seemed to be dropping a lot in A1 but I'm somewhere in A2 and any support gem drops at all have disappeared. I tried going back to A1 but the drop rate is still bad.

just keep playing, plenty of quests offer them as rewards and they tend to drop relatively often
