Spears

I really wanted to run it back on spears. I did not want to start lightning spear. I wanted a bleed build for the blood mage(Power fantasy).No bladed weapons yet only pointy sticks.
With my first spear I kinda of got into the routine of stab,stab, cull strike then explosion spear even working in the occasional rapid strikes. This type of combo with the new monster speed was playable early but it's not a sustainable playstyle. I quickly started getting overwhelmed as early as ACT 2.
I discovered glacial spear kinda fun. Not really what I was looking for but I had used my early supports for elemental damage and supports were only coming as quest rewards
I would like to see the spear have a skill something like cyclone where you kinda spin the spear a full 360 and into the thick of the mob using disengage maybe something else to escape or stand your ground and fight. Maybe not an early skill but something for fun later in the campaign similar to the tornado where it can use a damage type you spec into.
Whirling slash is ok but I don't think it's good enough for clear. I could mark enemy engage with rake but whirling strike attack damage seems low. How would I clear the mob if they don't explode?
please allow us to disable auto targeting feels bad if a monster side steps you or jumps behind you in a straight corridor and your ability hits him instead of the mob in front of you.

Oh man wish I had watched the video. I played that whirling slash all wrong. I tried to understand by reading the description but i kept disengaging too early not realizing it is meant to activated multiple times like a projectile.
