I upgrade my tabs and they were removed

On the website I upgraded 6 of my tabs to offline market mode, I'm in the new league and the 6 tabs disappeared, what should I do?

Find Ange in Kingsmarch in Act 4 and invite her to your Hideout to use the new system.

That is exactly what happened to me.

Even in PoE 2, each of my previous Premium tabs that I upgraded became a read-only Market tab—and then disappeared from those I can use normally the next time I logged in.

I see them all when I click Ange, but they are inaccessible from my normal stash.

I am lucky in that I didn't upgrade everything at once, and I still have Premium tabs left over for my inventory management.

I haven't yet tried putting items into one of those tabs for the purpose of selling something.

I had thought this was intentional, but it was never stated this would be the exact behaviour. I just chalked it up to being a result I didn't want, but one I'd have to live with.

In one sense it makes sense that a tab that is currently being used to sell an item be read-only. Otherwise, you could just forcefully yank the item out when you shouldn't be able to. But perhaps this is still some kind of bug, and that use case is meant to be handled differently.

A stash tab will be Remove Only if you need more stash tabs than you have paid for. Typically, this is when the game is transferring stash tabs from a concluded temporary league to its permanent parent league. You've only paid for e.g. 1 currency stash tab, so your second currency stash tab is Remove Only. When emptied, it disappears.

Because you upgraded premium stash tabs to tabs used by the new system, your stash now has more tabs than you've paid for. When you empty them, they will disappear.

No, that's not what I was explaining.

Let's say I have 10 Premium tabs that can be used for inventory. I upgrade 5 of them to Merchant tabs. Now I have only 5 Premium tabs that can be used for inventory. The other 5 get sent to be used for the new trading system with Ange—and they are removed from my stash.

I still have 10 tabs in total, it's just that 5 of them are now inaccessible to me (for inventory), unlike how they would all be accessible to me for inventory in the old system.

This has nothing to do with having more tabs than I've paid for, nor having any of them become remove-only, except for what PoE 1 might or might not see.

Having them be remove-only would only make sense if they had items in them before I upgraded them. The ones that Ange now uses I called "read-only," (not "remove-only") because I can no longer use them for anything except trade.

It's this last behaviour that I understand, but which I had not expected at all—because that's not how it works in PoE 1, where premium tabs can be used for both trading and inventory management—all still appearing in your stash.

It was honestly a stupid decision on my part not to upgrade only a single tab first and see what happened, because the new system doesn't let me keep my Market tabs as functional tabs for my inventory as PoE 1 does with Premium tabs. If I could revert the conversion of many of the tabs I did convert, I would do that.
