Unclear map node unlock conditions
Trying to unlock new Mansion in the Mists map, and the conditions are too vague and unclear to the point of being misleading, I feel.
Ingame tooltip: " Currently I am stuck due to 2 problems with this: 1. it's not clear how many Hengestones are needed. I have found 2 but no idea how many more I need; there is also no tracker inside the tooltip for the stones. 2. it's also not clear how nearby the "nearby maps" from the tooltip are meant to be in relation to the Mansion: I have completely encircled the Mansion node in green complete maps and still have not found enough Hengestones to unlock it. same experience here, found two of the Mansion in the Mists ndoes and done various surrounding maps but can't seem to unlock, would be nice to have some kind of visual indicator on the atlas

If you look, there are some map nodes that look like they have blue wisps circling them. Those have the hengestones required. You cannot activate them until the map objectives have been cleared.

" I actually saw those and thought those were just effects of that particular map node, however, they are very subtle so I'd appreciate if they were at least made a bit more prominent (like a beam of light, or a circular glow aura for the node). Just to help connecting the effect with the goal. And on my Mansion hunt: I eventually did unlock it, but the process was HIGHLY confusing. One of my cleared maps would just reset to being "available" (green -> blue), and I had to go and do that map again to find a Hengestone (I did Penitentiary map ~3 times because of that). In total I think I did like around 10-12 Hengestones? That's counting Hengestone "summons" where you get 3 in a single map but need to fight a mini-boss. |

"Find and activate a set of nearby Draiocht Hengestones in Maps to purge the evil surrounding this Mansion and gain access. "
its just annoying. or make it find 1 and thats it... |

This mechanic seems bugged, it's lighting up maps I've already done and there are no hedgestones in them.

I just understood that:
Nodes with blue wisps These blue wisps are not just a visual effect — they are progression markers within the Atlas system. Their presence indicates that the node (map) can generate or contain a Draiocht Hengestone. The logic seems to be: whenever you enter a node with wisps, the stone is guaranteed, regardless of whether there is a boss. 2. Function of the Draiocht Hengestone Upon completing the map and clicking the stone, the wisps migrate to another adjacent node. This creates a behavior of “pushing” or “guiding” the wisps across the Atlas. In essence, each interaction is a kind of ritual advance, moving that energy toward its final destination. 3. The role of Mansions Mansions are clearly designed as special boss encounters, sealed behind additional conditions. The goal is to guide the wisps to a Mansion. Once accumulated at the entrance, this unlocks access and allows you to face the special content inside. 4. The mechanic as a whole It is a mini-progression game within the Atlas: Enter marked nodes → Activate the Hengestone → Follow the wisps as they move → Repeat until they reach the Mansion → Unlock the secret boss. Good Game Exile ;) Last edited by HugoSantosExile#6242 on Sep 10, 2025, 8:26:34 PM
