Hollow Palm Technique ignores Quarterstaves buff on jewels

Hi,

Ref number is 3,955,449,623.

Socketing a jewel with increased damage or attack speed with quarterstaves has no effect while using Hollow Palm Technique, although the Keystone specifies 'Can attack as though using a quarterstaff while both your hand slots are empty'.

Thank you!
Asa

'Can attack as though using a quarterstaff' while both your hand slots are empty
This means skills that require a quarterstaff (or any martial weapon) assume you got one equipped. The damage you deal this way still comes from bare hands.
I understand my assumption that it should work might be wrong and that this might be by design. However, if that is the case, it's a substantial drawback, because (1) there are no such mods on jewels for unarmed attacks (%inc speed & damage) and, most importantly, (2) it puts the Quarterstaff cluster on the passive skill tree in a weird situation with regards to HPT, because there are 3 separate conditionals there:

- With Quarterstaves (Not Supported ?).
- With Quarterstaff Skills (Supported).
- While wielding a Quarterstaff (maybe Supported ?).

Which means some nodes are effective while others aren't, inside the same cluster and the 2 nodes that aren't are the internal ones, which are required to travel through to reach the other 2 effective nodes.

So, again, I might very well be wrong here but, regardless, this looks life a potential oversight (?) to me, so I think it might be useful for HPT as a Keystone to have clearer conditionals (one way or the other).

Hope that makes sense!

Does anyone have a definitive answer on the nodes that DO work with hollow palm?
Fists are not Quarterstaves, so increased damage with Quarterstaves should not work. Anything else that would scale that type of damage does work.

Theres no node that works "with hollow palm" as it doesnt change "unarmed" state to "quaterstaff" state. It just allows you to use "quaterstaff skills" while you are unarmed. So you still count as unarmed and you scale damage as unarmed (for example Thunderfist works for you).

Then I think updating the keystone description to something less ambiguous might help avoid misunderstandings.
agreed that this is confusing and should be updated
