Titan's Crushing Impact node ignores Brink support gem?

Does this node ignore Brink support? It feels like it - when I have Brink slotted in Armour Breaker, hitting with it before assigning this node leaves enemy primed(for example to follow up with Boneshatter). But after assigning Crushing Impact I now fully stun enemies with Armour Breaker.

It feels like this is unintended interaction, as this node fully ignore support gem and flattens skill loop - instead of setting myself up for fun combo I am shoehorned into single skill attacks with it.
