Progress Lost after Update-PS5

Just logged in to play. We were in the graveyard area on our 2nd play though after beating the Aztec area once. Now we are back at the ziggurat??? Is this fixable or are we screwed? Also my character (magic person) has a full tree reset and my husband’s character (archer guy) doesn’t??
