Wtf are Merchant Tabs and why doesn't GGG explain it?

There nothing in their "this is a permanent choice" that explains you can't use them as actual stash space any more from the Stash and nothing that explains how to access it and how to use it.

GGG expect everyone playing to already have too much knowledge and I'm kind of pissed what I thought was just a general upgrade appears to be some sort of limitation.

Can someone explain what these are since GGG didn't explain it.

Nothing in the game explains it, nothing on the website explains it, nothing in the upgrade explains it, nothing in the videos, nothing in the news, nothing in the wiki, can't find anything on the forum, can't find anything in the index which appears to just be the forum, like?

Merchant Tabs will be usable once you have unlocked your Hideout in PoE2. You can place an NPC there who will run your "Trades" from then on.

Put Item in Merchant Tab, set Price, and you´re good to go.

Trades will be done even while you´re offline, you just log back in after 3 Days and collect all the Profits you made during that time.

Thats basically all that Merchant Tabs for, and this was discussed plenty in the 0.3.0 Reveal they did a week or so before release.

If you exclusively play PoE 1, your Tabs that you converted to Merchant tabs will be temporary Lost in PoE 1, since this Feature is not included there.

This, at the moment, is a unique PoE 2 Feature, and you gotta play PoE 2 to make use of it.

Unlike old trade, You can’t start to sell items in a new league until you reach Act IV and meet the NPC even if you have a hideout already. Seems a real shame.
