Why would sprint stop when hitting an object?

Is it me or thats how it behave now? If you run into any obstacle it seem to stop sprint?

If yes, why???? Isn't the purpose of it to fasten fast tracking?

I guess when you run into something, you stop. Maybe you have not run into a wall before, but they usually stop you if run into one.
Because they got so angry for giving you sprint for free, they had to get a refund somehow.

Sorry i run into so many monsters every moment here and there, i forgot how that feels like
Because you're playing PoE 2. GGG has stated multiple times that they want the game to be slow and deliberate, not a zoom-zoom fest like PoE 1.

Did you genuinely think that a sprint feature in such a game wouldn't come with downsides to it?

yeah actually cause you already get stunned when you enter combat. the main purpose of sprint is to help you get around the maps that are too big for no reason. travel is supposed to be mindless. no i don't care about realism here

Thats exactly how i feel, thank you. Right now with all the obstacles, you need to pay more attention when sprinting than when you play the actual game.
To all the boot lickers that say "DeRrrr RuNinG HaS To hAvE a dOwNSidE" Cool, then allow us to unbind it...Tying run to the dodge mechanic is so effing dumb, I dont know how sane people justify this garbage.

I personally think GGG has some of the worst ideas of a ARPG I have ever seen. Their only saving grace is the game loop itself is fantastic. But some of the mechanics they try and force down your throat is so frustrating.

If I cannot unbind run from the dodge roll, I wont play past this season. Most of my POE2 group agrees on this hated mechanic. Dodging an attack and having it jump to a run state where I get insta tripped is stupid.
