Upgraded to Merchant's Tabs is not available for converted to Premium Stash Tabs.

This week I purchased five Premium Stash Tab upgrades, and now GGG says that Premium Stash Tab Upgrades cannot be used to upgrade Merchant Tabs. This wasn't reported, so I consider it a scam.

It also won't let me upgrade my Premium Quad Stash Tab. There's a lot of small print trying to force you to buy new Premium Merchant Tabs.

Many people have been scammed this way. More than half the market will be left out.

Ya I'm pretty dang disappointed. The line about not being able to convert Upgraded stash tabs wasn't in the show case so that feels really bad. I only did some upgraded to do the old trading and now gotta spend more money to actually participate in new trade...
GGG responded on reddit already, that they'll be addressing this sometime next week. My interpretation of what they said is the base four tabs still won't be convertible to merchant tabs, even if they were upgraded; but *extra* tabs that were upgraded will be able to be converted.
Thats good to hear. at least its something. the tabs thing really took the wind out of my sails. frustrated we're gonna be 4+ days behind trade in such an important league for trade, but at least its something...
Seriously, this is technically not a scam (since people got the premium upgrade they paid for), but it feels like it. There was a stash sale last weekend, and a lot of people bought premium upgrades to convert them to merchant, and ggg simply goes "oh, you can't do that" without telling anyone.

I'm not one of them, btw, I didn't buy the closed beta and I'm not even playing POE 2 this free weekend or anything, I just feel for those who got screwed over by this.

I find it interesting that GGG did not announce an intent to do this upfront. They might've saved a lot of grief had they acknowledged the need for this. ='[.]'=

Well, I'm sure a lawyer could argue about not being technically a scam, because while the technical implementation remained the same, the functionality those Tabs now offer has definitely been diminished in value, since now most of the trade will happen through the in game interface and the content of the Premium Tabs will not be indicized and accessible to buyers.

In 0.1 I upgraded all the four free tabs to Premium Tabs because it was mandatory to trade in the old system, and since by upgrading them I already had 4 Premium Tabs, I decided to buy 2 Quad Premium Tabs instead. In hindsight, it was a bad decision because now I can't sell through the in game trade system because GGG decided that Quad Tabs cannot be converted and the free ones are not convertible by default, even if I spent my points to upgrade them exactly for the purpose of being able to trade.

What I learned from this experience is that this Company values its Early Access players support very little and that it's definitely better to refrain from spending any amount of money on features that can be diminished by new updates, since the company honors just the form and not the substance of their agreement with their customers.

Right now the aftertaste is really bad.

Not informing players that current premium tabs cant be converted to merchant tabs is illegal.
In brazil it is, jus checked out and in USA it is also
https://www.pinsentmasons.com/out-law/news/contracts-cannot-be-changed-online-without-notice-rules-us-appeals-court
I had 4 upgraded tabs and bought 1 more, thinking of staying with 1 regular 4 merchants. Now i cant as well. other people bought other kinds of premium. All wasnt informed before the patch, then there was an information where upgraded tabs were going through some issues and they would fix it, and now the website changed to say you cant convert upgraded 4 primary tabs to merchant tab.
Thats illegal. We all should make a formal complain.
