New point of view.
I play a lot of ranged builds and I really hate mechanics where any skill that shoots projectiles in front of me also forces me to jump backwards.
That’s one of those things that makes me avoid such skills at all costs. I know Snipe requires this, and I don’t mind in that case. But many skills are designed to push me back anyway. For example, something like Toxic Rain: I shoot forward — my character jumps backwards. Why?? With Ice Shot I can somewhat understand it, but with TR? Why not replace the backward jump on some of these skills with a dodge/leap instead? The leap could follow the movement direction (WASD at the moment). The target could simply be the mouse cursor. So, if I’m running forward and shoot, I leap over the target / or towards it if the cursor is far. If I’m running backwards and shoot forward, then the character should dodge backwards. A lot of skills would become much more useful this way. Last bumped on Aug 28, 2025, 7:00:26 PM

" But I could also jump and shoot beneath myself to propel further forward. Physics works here too, and you don’t need a PhD to know that. |
