warrior defense is like this: armor, amrmor applies to elemental, cloak of flames and block and life

life is not very high because you barley get anything

armor is worse than poe 1
there are however 2 notables on the tree, one is usualy on the pathing of almost all builds and they are: defend with 200% of armour against crit and defend with 120% of armor against projectiles, the projectile one is dogshit bad to get to and not worth all the travel

armor applies to elemental is like if you have more than 100% you basicly only defend with more armor for example 150% and armor value of 10k means you defend vs elemental with 15k armor
not sure if it stacks with the above mentioned defend with 200%/120%

cloak of flames makes armor more valueable but max res got gutted hard so its not nearly good enough as it was pre 0.3 so we will see how it ends up, also why is a pice of cloth better at mitigating phys damage than actuall armor?

block got heavily nerfed, lost 25% base max block, so that also is bad


so if we would get a guard skill specificly only for warriors or str based, it would need to make us litteraly immune to make it even worthwhile and that in turn would open another can of worms as people would abuse the shit out of it like they did in poe 1 with immortal call



ahh yea and while at it, titans blood also nolonger is worht useing because A it halfs health from str and B everything that scaled well with levels now requires weapon stats for damage, makeing it alot harder to scale damage and defense


meanwhile, in 0.2 trade league, 66% of all players were evasion or evasion/energyshield builds and yet they got even buffed

we dont have the tree info yet, sure, but i strongly doubt it will make anything significant for warriors

despite all ive just said, i still will play a warrior because for some reason i realy enjoy that guy, lore and voicelines are great and yea, i just like warrior :P
I’ll put it like this.
When PoE 2 was starting, Glasses Guy was assuring everyone that melee would be better than ranged, because so many mechanics in PoE 2 are visible enough that melee can easily dodge them, while ranged would just get wrecked.

I was optimistic, and after a pretty decent melee league in PoE, I believed him.
Turns out, those were the worst three league-start days I’ve ever had in all of PoE.
Never in my life have I had it that bad.

25 minutes fighting the Act 2 boss as melee!!!
Full armor, solid ER. Garbage DPS because I couldn’t farm a better weapon (3 hours of farming).
I was dying simply from running out of life flasks, even with life gain on block.
(For the record: I was level 43 fighting a level 33 boss.)

Glasses Guy lied in every single aspect of his statement.
And the moment I dropped melee, I realized that my 3 days of melee progress could’ve been achieved in 4 hours on literally any other build.

Moral of the story:
Don’t trust Glasses Guy.
When they give buffs to armor/ER, expect nerfs somewhere else.
Once again they’re “encouraging” melee with new skills and shiny fire star effects, but at the same time they nerf block and life.

To me, that’s just bait for suckers — and I’m saying no thanks.
