About Armour

Hey.

Now Armour will be able to mitigate elemental hits also. I understand this change like : "We are not buffing armour, but give you more reason to invest into it". The idea of replica dreamfeather in poe1.

So my question is: Is investing in armour doable?
A big hit is around 8K (let's say 10k for the ease of calcul). As life characters have 4k life in average, this hit should not do more than 3.5K. We need 65% to mitigated enough to survive. Of course nuke area should not be tankable. Let's say you have a 7k gear armour (1k shield, 3k body, 1k gloves, boots, helmet) 600% increased and 100%more (scaveged plating 40%, Banner 30%, 17% charge regulation and 13% elsewhere), you will still "just" halfen the 10k hit, and die.

There is hope tho. You can already double defend. With the bigger tree, maybe you will have more source of double defend. Or a tech around always taking critical strikes, brass dome and blade catcher to always double defend on critical strikes.
Maybe corrupted blood halfing the damage you take and the rest is taken over time like in PoE1
There is this exceptionnal gear also.

Or you could just change the armour formula. 25K is really good investment currently, far from the 100k we need. Here my suggestion: Armour / (Armour + 10 * Hit) becomes Armour / (Armour + 5 * Hit) The lower the value, the more valuable the armour is.

You also have to count resistances. It comes after the armor reduces the damage, Dreamcore uploaded a video talking about it, link below.

Sadly GGG is most likely missing the mark on this. I expect when the data comes in that too many armour base players are ignoring it, they will have to reevaluate. Applying before resistance means it will mitigate very little from larger hits. There is a significant investment in getting these mods to a level ut's worthwhile. I suppose if this could stack up to 200-300% it might be viable, but again that will be a heavy investment.
I saw Dreamcore video, I love this guy. And yeah, i think they missed the mark. I'm just hoping.
