fix kaom items
i want my character to only use kaom for the looks and feel, but the gloves and rings are really bad.
the gloves need to either get rid of the rage/life regen thing, or make it 50 life regen per rage, right now its useless, i get no life regen and i dont need the 200/rage regen when im attacking since i max out rage very fast without it. the rings are just bad. they need a lot more stats. and kaoms helm should be dropable anywhere, its not a good item why is it so exclusive? there should be a set bonus for wearing all kaom, like the set bonus in d2 (tal rasha, ik, griswold etc) Last edited by chaD#3533 on Aug 26, 2025, 12:46:55 AM Last bumped on Aug 27, 2025, 11:22:41 AM

if you want to do something odd like this, perhaps you might want to learn a bit about the items before asking for them to be "fixed"?
The helm is very powerful The rings are VERY useful (prior to getting a mirror-tier ring) The gloves are good....except for the archetype they are designed for. I mean, this whole post just sounds foolish: why would you want to put that on full display like that? You realize that if this is something you want to create a build around........then its YOUR job to figure that out right? That is like 90% of the game. I mean.......in less than a minute of looking, I can foresee a CWC desecrate cyclone setup, auto shouts, corpse explosion for 10% corpse health, potential rage gen from gloves to even scale up direct cyclone damage, endurance stacking for defense and potential offense. Kaom's primacy is mildly anti-synergistic with the gloves, but with both you'd probably have 100% uptime of all your rage, and therefore 100% uptime of Berserk. It won't kill ubers, but it can probably do some decent farming and be rather tanky. You might need to corrupt skills on all the gear because of no sockets in your armor and boots. Set bonuses create insane imbalance. They weren't good in D2, they weren't good in D3, they don't ever belong in PoE. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Aug 26, 2025, 1:25:11 AM

" hows the helm good? many items give the % of enemy life damage. the ring just gives 1 endurance charge, no other useful stats, and ur comparing it to mirror tier rings? and to make the glove rage regen useful, u need a ton of life regen items that aren't good. there's simply no debate here with what i said. check market prices for ring and gloves, they are 1c items. the helm is hard to get so goes for ~1-2d, but i dont see good stats on helm, 10% enemy life damage is useless vs bosses. | |
if you want visuals - Skin Transfer MTX is there for you. sadly it is a paid option, but it is still an option (mind you, some items DO NOT have individual 3d models and use generic ones)
as for the items, melee uniques are rather bland, boring and weak - with some exceptions Kaom's chest - pure garbage Kaoms' gloves - pure garbage (it was a GREAT item in the past, but Rage got reworked and these gloves were made 100% redundant) Kaom's ring is great starter item for Endurance Charge stacker (Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm, Cons Path of Endurance, Vigilant Strike) but.. this is the weakest 'stacker' so nobody plays it anymore (was great in Phrecia with Ancestral Commander) so it kinda is also garbage Kaom's Helmet is used for auto-bomber (scale phys as extra chaos) and due to increased warcry area is pretty good for really dense content. it is a VERY niche build (simply put - you can get the same effect cheaper and better elsewhere) but the build works. it worked much better in Phrecia tho Kaom's Axe - very good sub-BiS item, 140% roll with double corrupt kinda carries hard into ubers Kaom's Boots - just play Jugg/Trickster. loosing 4 sockets, 2 implicits and resists is kinda huge, but on the other hand - they are ~free so you can fish for +endurance charge corruption in general, yeah - there is no point in making a BUILD around these, it would not get you far - mostly because these items have very strong drawbacks and their strong points are no longer relevant |

What you want are essentially set items. POE doesn't have set items and there are no known intentions of them being implemented so i think you are out of luck.
Those items you mention are just random uniques that happen to be named after one individual. They aren't designed to be worn in a set. MOst of them are pretty good on the right build, so there isn't anything wrong with the items that requires fixing. You just want to use them for something they aren't designed for. |

Yeah I don't see them ever making set items let alone changing specific unique that have similar names to fit a power fantasy. Just buy some skin transfers if you want the look/skin of the item...

we.. have sets:
Balbala Ivory Coruscating set Ralakesh Badge Loop set Maven's belt damage over time set and many many more. they are not green nor have implicit set bonuses, but they are in all functional aspects set items that work exponentially better once full set is assembled |

Character themed Unique sets can be nice for funsies; they'll never be optimal, but it can make for a cool challenge to see how far you can get (assuming you can accumulate all the items you need). I've played an Ahn build, a Daresso build, and I'm looking at a Doedre build. Of course, with most of your item slots filled with Uniques, it makes ordinary gearing a lot tougher, to say nothing of the pain of not upgrading when you could increase power simply by equipping a better Rare.
Still, gamers aren't always about min-maxing; sometimes, we just like to set these little challenges for ourselves. =^[.]^= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/

" Who's "we"? I think you're talking about yourself, cause those who like to take on challenges take their meme builds into endgame, for the challenge, and not just act 6. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. Last edited by Pashid#4643 on Aug 27, 2025, 5:22:18 AM
