What happened to PoE mobile?
I suddenly remember they show a bit of the mobile game( is it exilecon 2019?) and since then, radio silence.
Is it dead or something I missed Last edited by KiadawP#5072 on Jul 18, 2025, 11:54:11 AM Last bumped on Jul 20, 2025, 11:55:51 AM

Had forgot about this one. Who the hell knows. Personally didn't care about it back then, and care even less now. Never played a single game on my phone since Snake on my Nokia 3310.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

I remember them talking about it not too long ago. Iirc it's on hold right now until PoE2 is launched. They reallocated the mobile devs to develop the console version of PoE2.

" 100%. They took all the (worst) qualities of an idle mobile game....and shoved them into PoE. I bet we even see more of this kind of thing in the future, as they steadily downgrade their creative vision and quality control. Starting anew....with PoE 2

" i regularly see threads requesting things like 'daily login bonuses' 'rest-xp' in EA section. we arrived at the point where ppl crave to be psychologically manipulated, so yeah its gonna get worse for sure |

^they also....don't want to have to play the game they are electing to play. There is so much feedback nowadays that all boils down to "this should happen so I don't have to engage with it".
When you start making suggestions for more ways to NOT engage....something is very wrong. Starting anew....with PoE 2

Pretty clear with the EA of 2 that the shit has hit the fan and the PoE that many of us loved playing for years just isn't going to be with us any longer.
This has happened to more games than I can remember...maybe all of them. It is the way. Perhaps I'll check out Last Epoch after all |

" In the Settlers league, there wasn't an option to skip timers or buy materials with the MTX Points. Did something change in Mercenaries? P.S. This isn't the first time GGG added a mechanic based on another game genre, for example Blight is based on tower defense. |

" P2W is a subset of mobile, but not ALL mobile. The idle game aspects are what we are talking about. Waiting for resources, waiting for converting resources, waiting for sending resources, and hours-long timers in general. Getting things without engaging with the game. While kingsmarch is not p2w, its still following the stereotypical idle game mobile genre staples. And yes, this isn't the first time: blight td, ToTA MOBA, etc. And guess what? Those happen to also be the mechanics I hate alongside Kingsmarch. They simply don't fit and don't work (imo). There is absolutely NO reason why PoE, a game I play BECAUSE its an arpg, needs to continue adding content that......isn't anywhere close to arpg. If I wanted that, I'd play a different game from that genre that will almost 100% do it better. And the worst version of this is taking ideas from idle game philosophy a la Kingsmarch. It's the absolute laziest, most disengaging possible design they could choose. It's what games do when they want to churn out 100s of clones that last maybe a year and then die away for the next clone to take its place.
