QoL feature request: tooltip over support gems before use

I know that when in your inventory, a support gem you create will show what skills you have that it will support and which it won't (if any at all). But if the support gems could display this *before* I use one only to find out it's use*less*, it would be a massive QoL value add. It would make it easier to buildcraft without following someone else's guide, and it would mean I don't have to worry about a next drop if I make one I can't use, because I wouldn't.

Oh! Yes. That is very annoying... Can't tell what it will support before crafting from uncut. Besides, some gems not being able to support others despite logically being able to, is weird.
