Energy Shield Issue. Not getting enough shield.

Maybe i am misunderstanding something and just need an explanation. I have one piece of gear that provides energy shield. My helmet and the ttool tip says it provides 403 energy shield. but the energy shield displayed over my hp bar and in my character sheet statees that my ES is only 343? what is going on here a bug or is there something to the energy shield mechanic i am missing?

Are you using the Notable Cooked? It applies a negative modifier to Global Defences.

I am thank you. I took that so many levels ago now that I completely forgot. Thanks so much =). It would be nice if in the character sheet it showed the modifier reducing my energy shield. Maybe that will come in a later patch.
