Uniques Carrying Over Between Leagues
As a new POE player I understand the reason behind the leagues but am a bit disgruntled by having to re-level and re-acquire everything.
Having uniques carry over between leagues would mitigate some of my angst, lol. Being able to equip certain uniques early on would make the leveling process much faster. Having access to end-game uniques -- many of which are necessary for different builds -- would enable me to play a certain build without having to re-farm / re-purchase a particular unique. There would still be benefit in dropping those uniques in the new league. They might be an overall upgrade or they can be turned into crafting materials. There would be an economic downside, of course. But having these transfer from one league to another would, in my opinion, make for a smoother transition into a new league every 4 months. Thoughts? All uniques? No. If everyone manages to get a Mageblood, they'll no longer have value. I'm not saying that out of self-interest, I've never owned one nor have I obtained any. GGG will simply not allow it, as they hold the player economy as the most sacred aspect of the game which this request will surely ruin.
But I do like the idea of leveling uniques transferring over. I hate slogging through acts, enough that I only make 1-2 builds per league as I hate going through it more times than that. Access to leveling uniques would help ease the tedium. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

" Yes, I have thoughts. The whole idea about leagues/ladders/seasons, is to create a fresh start on a leveled playing field - without the very exact thing you're asking for. Standard is always there for you if you want permanent progression. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Inclined to agree with Phrazz, personally.
I could maybe see one unique item that's specifically created to be the unique that does this, but I think that would only result it becoming 'mandatory' to acquire that particular unique - and I think that would ultimately lead to the game being worse, not better. I find it difficult to justify optional purchases to support a Tencent-owned development studio that declines to provide customers Technical Support, regardless of how many thousands of euros that customer has spent...

It will also create an even bigger gap between the "haves" and the "have nots".
Everyone owning a Mageblood would of course carry that over, as it's the best unique in the game, useable on "all" characters and equipable at level 44 - giving advantages for both leveling and endgame. The ones without one would of course be left in the dirt, not to mention the ones who skipped the last league. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" um....then you DON'T understand the reason behind leagues at all my friend. You literally just said two completely opposite things in the span of a single sentence. What you want is Standard mode: the diametrically OPPOSITE of what a "temporary challenge league" fundamentally is, which is your suggestion. What?
No. |

Let me say it this way…
I even think that all leagues should have everything deleted when they end, no standard merge no nothing, just plain deletion. So no, nothing should transition between them. |

Why? That sounds terrible.
The complete reset and everyone starting from 0 is the best part of the game. It's a core part of the game's identity. Just play Standard, I guess. |
