Prioritize the remaining 3 acts over new classes.

I heard that GGG was thinking about whether to prioritize the development of new classes or focus on completing the remaining three acts.
I think finishing the acts is more important. It's a big hit to motivation when you have to start over in Cruel mode while going through the story.
I’d probably have more endgame characters if I didn’t have to restart in Cruel mode.

new classes/ascendancies or maybe 1 or 2 new weapons are important too, i'd love new acts but playing the same builds with nothing new...well not sure how fun it will be.
+1

This league was a "one and done" for me. Went with the Huntress because it was the new class, and really wanted to roll a Smith after too, but with the changes they made with 0.2 I have zero interest in running 1-3 twice again just to get another class to maps.

Can't just be acts only though. Everyone keeps saying Druid has been "ready" or "just about ready" for ages now, so if that's true why not release it? 0.3 needs to have some serious girth, and if EA is supposed to be done by the end of the year there's A LOT that needs to come out to be tested and balanced yet.

If they managed to drop 4-6 in one crack I think I'd be fine without a new class (personally) because there are still other ascendancies I want to try anyway. Really just waiting for swords though.

Yeah man, poe 2 development team is like 5 people working on the game, so jeff needs to stop doing class design and start cooking the campaign. Im sure this is how it works.

...
No idea how ggg work flow is structured but id think level designers, voice actors, environmental artists, etc arent the same people doing class design/balance.

Guess they could make the programmers double as voice actors...
"Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."
Imagine they drop 3 acts, Druid, Templar, Marauder, Fails, and Axes all at once on top of a league mechanic and a heap of other adjustments for 0.3.

I would change my full-release timing guess from Dec 2026 to Dec 2025.

Maybe just a daydream - but it's a nice one to imagine!

They should just use the rambling gibberish noises that the one mercenary group from the current PoE1 league makes as filler until they get the actual voice lines in the game.

It would be hilarious enough that people would overlook the fact that it's filler lol.
At this point i'd settle for them scrapping cruel and just adjusting the xp gain in 1-3 to get you to 60 for endgame. Scale the xp back accordingly when they add more acts.

I'd honestly be curious to see what the metrics are for people who keep grinding out 1-3 and cruel for multiple classes vs the number of people that run one class for the entire league because of the tedium of replaying 1-3 twice for every new class they want to roll. Not that the campaign is hard, it just felt super tedious with 0.2 and I had zero interest in doing it again to experiment with another class I may or may not like come endgame. Whereas in 0.1 I had 3 characters in endgame. Some builds truly don't feel great until you're in maps, and it's a lot of nonsense to get there.

To me the idea of EA is to get as many people to engage with as much of the content available as possible to gather enough data on all of it, and making people wade through acts 1-3 twice for every class just feels like an odd choice. IMO since cruel is just a place-holder so there is zero value-added from a data perspective, and only serves to drag out the experience to make it feel like a "full length" campaign, and level characters properly. When in reality I feel like it turns people away from experimenting with multiple characters.

ONLY 5 people??? Are you serious?
And where are the other 50? Don't tell me that their working on Poe1's project?
Won't happen.
3 new acts = full release (1.0.)
