Bosses are unbearable
the bossfights are like 90% evade and 10% time-window for own attacks, if you do not have a burst build the fights take half an hour. this is not WoW or Eldenshit.
if you want this game not just to split Poe1 Playerbase in half and actually attract new players into the game, maybe, just maybe make the game less utterly repellant in the story mode?! i got 2.5k hrs in PoE1 and i'm DISGUSTED at this. it's like you completely miss the point of games beeing "fun" to play and not a chore, worst-paid-third job or sth. Minionbuilds are completely LOST in bossfights, everything instantly dies, you have no own dmg or the minions are basically useless to begin with, this is like worst times of d2 necro. half my minions have damage types, like freeze, that also prevent corspes from spawning, so i sabotage myself basically. it's like developers never learn, nor from their own past mistakes or the NUMEROUS mistakes blizz did in diablo 2, diablo 3 and 4 with minion builds. its all repetition of the same mistakes over and over again. You are trying to play and fight poe2 bosses like poe1 bosses and I imagine this aspect is present in other areas of gameplay for you, including character building, further exacerbating your struggles in a game that is not poe1.
If your minions die during a boss fight, it might be worth using one or two of the 9 skills slots (or with an unset ring for another) with non-minion skills which can perform damage, maybe also along with a weapon-swap and different swap-specific passive points allocated if necessary to complement those skills - during the respawn cooldown period at least. I think you have it set in your mind (or you are used to it from poe1) that you desire, and are familiar with standing in the background and cast debuffs/buffs from afar while minions do all your dirty work, and the game is not allowing you to do this for boss fights. Unfortunately, one of the main criticisms against minion-centric builds in poe1 is also their appeal to some: that the "stand in the background" aspect allows the player to circumvent engagement with boss fights and boss mechanics. I think this is allowed in PoE1 because there are too many constraints present in that game around the character building options which prevent players from realistically achieving acceptable performance with both minions and self-cast skills or any self-originating damage. This is not the case in PoE2, and I hear your criticism - that you can't play minions like you do in poe1, and you like playing it that way in poe1, and it could be the case that you just play that game instead, which is fine - poe1 is a great game! However, I personally think that you try to go back to the drawing board on your build and treat this as it's own game which requires a new strategy to overcome a new challenge. I think once you are successful with engaging the bosses at more than just a build-design level you will find that it creates a much more satisfying experience. Of course, I understand I could be wrong here and you just really like PoE1-style - then keep playing it! They don't have to be the same games :) |

My necro has no issues with bossing. I think the only thing that can wipe most of them is the chaos trial birds tornado if he gets buffed too much, but even then i have all the 'faster minion respawn' nodes and also regen/max resistances/offering/and i have my skeles heal other minions when they die.
Not sure how broken they were in 0.1 because i had her wearing corpsewades which was super fun, but minions are my to go if i have hard content now. I don't think minions are OP when looking at 'builds of the week' but they are definitely viable as is. |

It is horribly boring, repetitive, and gimmicky. It feels like a cheap Xbox game or something.

main issues with bosses is unberable hp and resist bloat, like from jamanra scaling goes in complete shitter, unless you play boring bugged build that will be fixed and nerfed in to oblivion after league ends

.....Souls ARPG. That's your answer if you ask why.

" hope it will be true, because there are lots of vampire-survivor staff happening around. But also random oneshots |

" I don't think adding dodge skill makes any game instantly "soulslike". And even the dodge is horribly clunky here. |
