If GGG doesn't change course this game is designed to fail. Please Focus on QUALITY over Quantity.
Listen. I was the biggest fan. I thought this game would revolutionize the ARPG genre if GGG played their cards right. Unfortunately that didn't happen.
This game will never be massively popular and will retain niche hardcore gamer status if they dont fix the map sizes. most players have a LIFE and will not want to spend countless hours grinding to the late game every new league. the maps are 3 times too large. shrink them and boost EXP gain to compensate. and also give players ways to get a new L60 character if they level one to 60 already. But... if you implement the map size changes I discussed maybe you won't even need to give players L60 chars at all. Some of you will insult me for making these suggestions but this is the reality of the situation. There are many good games every year. Most people will prioritize their time towards the best experiences and replaying the same grindy content will get old. Life has responsibilities and not everyone will want to be 2,000 hour POE gamer. GGG needs to focus on improving the moment to moment gameplay experience rather than creating a LONG so called ''content rich'' game where the map sizes are larger than california. Focus on QUALITY over Quantity. I want to play against high HP bosses that feel exciting.... but instead 99% of the gameplay is grinding through a long miserable map instead. I rather face 5 bosses along the way if the maps are going to be this enormous. The best content... is so RARE. So instead... shrink these maps... " I think the main issue you have with the game isn't the game itself, but rather your expectations of what it's supposed to be—when in reality, it's something different. If you don't like doing boring stuff for hours, the game is not for you, or even any ARPG endgame. I don't mean this in a negative way — it's just the kind of game that's geared toward autistic people. On Probation Any% Last edited by Dxt44#4050 on Jul 11, 2025, 3:39:53 AM

" Yeh, just accept it, the game is geared towards gamers who can drop 6hrs+ on a single sitting, not too sure if Tencent is happy with the current direction, but one things for sure, if you stop playing for several days you will find that as a casual gamer, there is literally no incentive to log back in, in fact it feels great to not log back in. |

Pretty bad take. I'm not sure where to start.
The game is already better than most available ARPGs even in it's current state, and it's probably only 40% fully-cooked. Being a niche game geared towards hardcore ARPG gamers is basically the foundational premise of the game and it's appeal. People need to stop posturing success in a way where if a game can't be at the top of a steam chart every day for 5 years straight, it's a failure. This is not a mass-appeal, easy-to-digest game - and it shouldn't necessarily be one. The game should be designed for people who like to play this kind of game, not for people who casually like to play what's popular, and there are already other ARPGs that fill the "less hardcore" niche. |

Nothing is set in stone yet.
Balance, improved trading and changes to the atlas are coming. | |
" And it is already moving to wrong direction (that is - to overbloating of everything). Will end up as PoE1: niche spreadsheet arpg with zero possibility to attract new audience due to overcomplexity and insanely high entry level. |

" Time to complete a map is already being shortened. Jonathan confirmed that in an interview a couple weeks ago. Whether people on this forum agree with you, the devs do, and they're already implementing the change. |

" What a new audience seem to bring to the game is a terrible trading experience and awful etiquette. No thanks On Probation Any%
