I hate all the changes to Betrayal
Can you just revert everything? It's awful.
I used to lock betrayal on my first atlas tree and now it just feels like an awful waste of time. There's more piss poor crafting tables. There's less catarina fights. The atlas passives are the same or worse. I think I'm probably just going to stop engaging with it. The mod unlocks not being tied to it is an improvement but that just means I have absolutely zero incentive to ever play it now that it's worthless in all regards. Yep +1000, they actually made beatrayal worse somehow. And the fact that catarina fights are an RNG drop instead of a progress bar you fill up to a safehouse is soooo bad lmao
Basically the only good loot she has is if you get lucky with a veiled exalt, or an allflame that sells for a lot. No extra safehouses in there anymore, and the most hilarious thing is that early in the league the entire map of monsters before the boss arena gave no exp or loot for some reason LOL(they fixed that in a small patch but still how did this even release in the state it was in) I agree all the crafting bench timer rewards in betrayal are just so bad. Those need to be removed and replaced with real,better rewards. Literally nobody uses them except maybe to complete challenges to "use X orb". I don't know how they did it, but they somehow made betrayal less rewarding,more grindy and more boring to do now. The only reason I can ever see myself engaging with it is to set up some kind of infinite gravicius transportation farm in hopes of hitting the div card jackpot. But with how long safehouses take now it would just feel horrible to farm that+syndicate medallions. They either need to do a real overhaul to betrayal, or just add 4 new notables at the start of the atlas tree to block master missions and get some kind of upside in return(or even just increased chance for the other missions). I feel like the changes would have been ok if they didnt nuke the xp to the safehouses. Taking away the 10 xp to random node on atlas and lowering all xp gain by half is quite of a joke...

Betrayal became absolute garbage the moment the previous rework came about (not the latest one, the one where we lost the 22+% Quality crafts as well as Vorici white sockets). Most of the Syndicate crafting benches are trash, losing the ability to reset the board is awful as well as the reworked Catarina fight in regards to drops as well as the loss of the mastermind safehouse. For me it's just an alternate farming mechanic for scarabs and the occasional allflame/veiled orb drops. Just feels bad overall.
Never forget the Alt Qual Gem deletion, the Ex > Div swap and loss of various crafting methods. Revive Metamorph/Crucible. Refine Sentinel/Kalandra content. Bring back legacy modifiers/values. Where's my EShroud buff? Last edited by shardklaw#0080 on Jul 10, 2025, 11:29:55 AM
